MAY 2010 KRAFT PAPER SECTOR REPORT:
Total Unbleached Kraft shipments were 111.6 thousand tons, up 12.3% compared to the same month last year. The year-to-date shipments posted an increase of 19.4% over 2009. The total Unbleached Kraft inventory rose to 52.1 thousand tons, 6,000 tons more than April 2010.
The total shipments of Unbleached Kraft Bag & Sack declined 17.6% compared to May 2009, but 4.6% from last month. Total year-to-date shipments dropped 0.3% compared to 2009.
Total shipments for Unbleached Kraft Multiwall Sack increased by 59.6% from the same month last year, but were slightly down from April 2010.
Unbleached Kraft Converting shipments showed an increase of 14.0% from May 2009, but also had a slight decrease over last month.
Total Bleached Kraft shipments increased by 7.3% compared to the same month last year, but decreased by 11.1% from last month. Total Bleached Kraft inventory was 600 tons less than April 2010.
